Way back in 2010, which to me seems like forever ago I met Alex through a mutual friend. He didn't have a girlfriend at the time and when the group of us got together, he was one of the loudest, most goofy guys of them all. (A bit of a smartass too) Anyway! I always saw the rebel, and the guy who always had something to say about everything. I'm painting a lovely picture, am I right? However, Alex was always there for his friends, he was 100% real, and was there when I needed some advice from an outside perspective.
Years went by and I probably talked to him a few times but didn't see him as much as I used to. I found out he was engaged and was so excited for him, but I couldn't help but wonder...who is this girl? Along came Shannon, one of the sweetest girls I've ever met. This past Saturday I photographed their engagement session at Valley Forge Park, and I was kind of taken back for a minute. There I was, with Alex, and he was calm. He was attentive to Shannon, he was all lovey and I literally had to stop photographing them at one moment and say, "Alex, I have never seen this side of you." It was beautiful to see how grown up he has become, fallen in love with this lovely girl, and now they're getting married!? It's hard to believe that 9 years have gone by and so much has changed, but we still remain friends and can hang like old times.
We wandered all over Valley Forge together talking about how they met, their first date, and played some fun games. Before I knew it the sun was setting, the light was quickly fading, and our session had come to an end. I had such a blast wandering around with some old friends and making new memories. Congratulations to Alex & Shannon, I cant wait to photograph your wedding!
